The show is inspired by real events from the tumultuous world of organized crime in the 1970s and 1980s and revolves around the life of Griselda Blanco, a strong female character who evoked admiration, hatred, and fear in a criminal world dominated by men.
The Netflix series explores her early involvement in drug trafficking, the founding of the Medellín Cartel and her establishment as "la Madrina" of the drug trade in Miami. It also covers the events that earned her the nickname 'la Viuda Negra' (the Black Widow).

2. Karol G as Carla
The singer better known as the 'Bichota' makes her Netflix debut embodying the character of Carla, one of the numerous young 'mules' Griselda Blanco employed to transport drugs to the United States. However, it's important to note that Karol G's character is fictional, representing a stereotype of women who played a crucial role in the criminal organization.
3. Alberto Guerra as Darío Sepúlveda
Cuban actor Alberto Guerra takes on a pivotal role as Darío Sepúlveda, Griselda Blanco's third husband, who would become the father of Vergara's forth son, Michael Corleone Blanco -the one who has now filed a lawsuit against Sofia Vergara and Netflix, alleging the unauthorized use of his 'artistic literary work.'
Already a social media sensation for his portrayal, Guerra previously collaborated with the team behind the production of Griselda in the third season of Narcos portraying 'El Mayo' Zambada. In Griselda, he takes part in a narrative of love and complicity that, unsurprisingly, doesn't end well for his character.
4. Alberto Ammann as Alberto Bravo
Alberto Ammann, a 45-year-old Argentine and Spanish actor, takes on the role of Alberto Bravo, Griselda Blanco's second husband.
Working closely with Blanco, he played a pivotal part in laying the foundations and forging crucial connections for the expansion of their criminal empire. Their relationship met a tragic end with Bravo's demise at the hands of Griselda. Ammann has previously been featured in drug cartel series such as 'Narcos' and 'Narcos: Mexico.'
5. Christian Tappan as Arturo Mesa
Mexican-Colombian actor Christian Tappan, 51, portrays Arturo Mesa, Griselda's accountant from Medellín, who comes to Miami to help her make business connections. He has also appeared in 'It Was Always Me,' 'Primate,' 'The Five Juanas,' 'The Great Heist,' and 'Operación Pacífico.' The artist shared a video on Instagram, describing this role as one of the 'most wonderful experiences' of his life.
6. Vanessa Ferlito as Carmen
Vanessa Ferlito, known for her role as Detective Aiden Burn in CSI: NY, among other highly popular police dramas, portrays Carmen. She used to work with Griselda in her previous trafficking circle but is now determined to stay far away from her new operation in Miami. Ferlito has also featured in NCIS: New Orleans, Graceland, Julie & Julia, and Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail.
7. Juliana Aidén Martinez as June
June is the first female intelligence analyst in the Miami PD, determined to halt Griselda's violent crimes. The actress, previously featured in The Blacklist, Prodigal Son, Tar Pit, and The Mysteries of Laura, actually spoke to the real June to prepare for the character. 'She wanted to protect her community, wanted to stop the murders,' shared the actress.
8. Martín Rodríguez as Rivi
Rivi, portrayed by Martín Rodríguez, is Griselda's right-hand man and hitman. His charm could entice and frighten just about anybody.
9. Paulina Dávila as Isabel
Colombian actress Paulina Dávila, known for her roles in 'Savage Rhythm,' 'Ella camina sola,' 'Here on Earth,' 'The Deal,' 'Bunker,' and 'Carrion,' portrays Isabel, also known as Isa. She is Griselda's friend from Colombia who ends up working for her.
10. Orlando Pineda as Dixon
Dixon is Griselda's eldest son, described by Netflix as causing the most problems but willing to do anything for his mother. Orlando Pineda has previously worked in 'Narcos: Mexico,' 'The Infiltrators,' and 'Milagros de Navidad.'
