Griffon Shows Improved Relative Price Performance; Still Shy Of Benchmark

On Friday, Griffon got an upgrade to its Relative Strength (RS) Rating, from 70 to 75.

This proprietary rating measures technical performance by showing how a stock's price movement over the last 52 weeks compares to that of the other stocks in our database.

Over 100 years of market history shows that the best stocks tend to have an RS Rating of over 80 in the early stages of their moves. See if Griffon can continue to show renewed price strength and hit that benchmark.

Can You Really Time The Stock Market?

Now is not an ideal time to jump in since it isn't near a proper buy zone, but see if the stock goes on to form a chart pattern and break out.

Earnings grew 24% last quarter, up from -4% in the prior report. Revenue also increased, from -5% to 3%. The next quarterly numbers are expected on or around Jan. 30.

Griffon earns the No. 8 rank among its peers in the Building-Construction Products/Miscellaneous industry group. Mueller Water Products, Interface and Armstrong Wrld Ind are among the top 5 highly rated stocks within the group.
