Greggs teases the return of popular pastry sending fans into wild guessing frenzy

Greggs is a firm favourite quick and easy takeaway for many - from their legendary sausage rolls to their cheese and onion bakes and even their coffee, it's cheap and cheerful and has amassed a bunch of superfans.

Today, they've put out a cryptic social media post that has left people guessing what will be making a return in stores, as soon as next week.

The post read: "Guess who's back?", with a date of February 2, which is next Thursday. In the teasing clip, the item can be seen briefly, but not enough for anybody to be 100% sure about what it is.

Greggs are known for their hilarious social media campaigns, including their 'Elf on the Shelf' style Christmas photos, which saw Drake, the rapper, sat on a steak bake, the flaky pastry product.

They also have a history of bringing back products that have been successful in the past, such as the festive bake on a yearly basis, and the delightful sausage and bean melt.

The social media post has left people desperately trying to guess which of the perfect pasties will be making a return, will some convinced that it must be the festive bake, but others think they've got it nailed.

Someone wrote: "'Pattern would suggest Festive Bake (I wish) or Corned Beef (woohoo!)?"

Another made a suggestion, commenting: "Bring back the beef chilli bake. There's nothing with a kick just now. Need to spice it up a bit!"

"I don't know what that is, but I will eat it, one Twitter user wrote.

One Greggs superfan has been working smarter, not harder, however, and feels like he's nailed what the tasty treat is.

He wrote: "Pieced together the glimpses so everyone can see its the Vegan Steak Bake coming back again, judging by the pattern and style of pastry."

As a response, someone wrote: "Mans done more detective work than actual detectives."

We can't wait for them to announce for certain what they're bringing back!
