Greggs has mocked Kanye West’s new Yeezy trainers for looking like a popular baked good.

In May, Yeezy announced the launch of the 450 Sulfur shoe–and they were immediately compared to various food items, from Cornish pasties to gyozas.

Now, popular bakery chain Greggs has jumped in on the action, calling the Yeezy’s out for looking more like a snack than a shoe.

Greggs shared a photo of the Yeezy trainers and said: “Two Sausage Rolls short of a multipack”

Greggs’ Twitter followers jumped on board the joke, with one saying: “Just need to pop it in the oven to warm up,” while another said: “Kanye get these in vegan?”

But Greggs’ followers were not the only ones poking fun at the Yeezy shoes.

In response to the Yeezy Mafia Twitter account, which asked “how do you feel about the sulfur so far?” sneakerheads were quick to make fun.

One Twitter user said: “Tossing these into the pan with the rest of my gyoza,” while another said: “I’ll have them, but only if they come with the soy and rice vinegar dip. I’m not keen on the sweet chilli.”

One joker asked: “What’s it filled with? Beef and onion or chicken and mushroom?”

A Twitter user pointed out how expensive the shoes are for something that looks like dumplings and said: “hello yes I spent $450 dollars on your extremely cool shoes and I wear them everywhere but people are telling me I look like I’m wearing pierogi on my feet how do I explain to them the shoes are actually very cool thanks.”

The Yeezy 450 Sulfur trainers were originally priced at £170 but are currently listed for as much as £464 on reselling platforms.

The adidas YEEZY 450 Sulfur features “one piece Primeknit uppers with tightened bands around the ankle for a secure lockdown,” according to Hype Beast.

“Additional detailing comes in the form of matching laces weaved through the uppers and printed insoles showing the new YEEZY globe logo. Finishing up the design of the shoe are sole units that stretch up to the upper and treaded rubber outsoles.”
