Greggs hint at return of popular item as fans left guessing mystery comeback

Greggs fans have been speculating over a popular item that's making a comeback, after the bakery teased the return of a customer favourite.

In a cryptic Twitter post shared on Friday, the company simply wrote "Guess who's back?" in a computer animation, which flashed glimpses of pasties and sausage rolls loved by customers. The Tweet's caption read "02/02/23", making February 2 the likely return date.

Followers of the official account have been thrown into a tizzy trying to guess what the mystery item could be. Taking to social media yesterday, some hoped that one festive favourite would be sold permanently.

As reported by Chronicle Live, his Twitter reply simply said: "Festive Bake?", while another user suggested a second option: "Pattern would suggest Festive Bake (I wish) or Corned Beef (woohoo!)?'

One mega fan said that they would be happy to consume the unnamed item no matter what. "IDK [I don't know] what that is but I will eat it," they wrote.

Greggs have became known for their fantastic social media marketing campaigns, which in the past have included an apple-style reveal of their vegan sausage rolls and a thread about which footballer is which Greggs product.

They also have a history of bringing back products that have been successful in the past, such as the festive bake on a yearly basis and the sausage and bean melt.

The admin of Greggs Twitter account is clearly enjoying the interactions, replying to people's guesses with gifs and emojis which are only further fuelling their suspicions.

Greggs fans are desperate to know the returning pastry product with the hope that the popular will reveal all soon.
