Greggs fans are in for a treat as the bakery chain adds a new range of flatbreads to its menu.
The Newcastle-based firm has reported high demand for its hot food items, such as its chicken goujons and wedges. It revealed its sales have grown by nearly a fifth in the past 12 months with a 17% increase in its sales this year.
Now Greggs is expanding its menu further with the launch of a new range of flatbreads on Thursday. The range will include a Mexican chicken flavour.

The bakery chain has also tapped into newer markets this year with the launch of its evening pizza range and its ever-growing vegan options, including the vegan sausage roll and new chicken-free bakes, reports the Daily Record.
Greggs’ chief executive Roisin Currie told the PA news agency that consumers were “loving the versatility” of hot and cold options. “It’s all about offering that choice, so people can come in more frequently,” she told PA.
“They can come in time and time again and try lots of different things, as well as they favourites that they love.” Greggs has said the reason for its surge in sales at the start of the year is due to the beginning of 2022 being impacted by the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus.
Nevertheless, sales are expected to "normalise" throughout the rest of the year, as inflation begins to ease. But it is still expecting cost inflation to reach around 9% to 10% this year, driven by staff pay pressures and higher energy costs.
