MasterChef fans will have noticed an apparent visual change in Gregg Wallace over the course of the last few series. The presenter who is seen judging famous faces in the current celebrity series is a very different one to the judge seen from just a few years ago.
That is all because Gregg has undergone an extreme body transformation. His social media feed has become packed with posts documenting his dramatic weight loss change having shifted over four and a half stone during a relatively short time.
The now-57-year-old is keen to make his achievements known, regularly sharing workout photos that often put his six-pack at the forefront. His journey has been an impressive one, and has even resulted in many of his followers making similar changes to their life, all while avoiding a strict diet and severely restricting some of his favourite foods.

How much weight has Gregg Wallace lost?
At his heaviest, Gregg revealed how he weighed in at around 16 and a half stone, stating how he was “overweight and wasn’t happy”. Through a healthy and balanced diet, coupled with a regular exercise routine, Gregg, who is 5ft 8in, lost an impressive four and a half stone.
After continuing to exercise and eat healthily during the Covid lockdown, he maintained his weight loss and recorded a weight of just under 12 stone. He said on Instagram: “Just under 12 stone. Being at home 24/7 makes good choices easier.”
How did Gregg Wallace lose weight?
Gregg admitted how he wanted to lose weight so he could “look better on the telly”. To start with, he attempted to stick to several restrictive diets, such as fasting, no carbs and low fat.
Although these did result in short-term weight-loss, he said he was “really uncomfortable” and “horribly hungry and miserable all the time”, as reported by the Express. As a result, the former BBC Eat Well For Less presenter went in search of a more long-lasting solution that would also keep him feeling happy in the process.
He eventually learned that it is far better to wean yourself off a bad diet slowly in order to succeed and enjoy the lifestyle change, a process he described as “retraining his tastebuds”. A combination of healthy home-cooked meals and regular exercise was sufficient to perform this notable change.
Snacks, alcohol and takeaways were removed, instead swapped with three large, balanced meals a day. Speaking to the Sun, he revealed how it “honestly wasn’t a struggle”, and is even now aiming for the body of a 20-year-old.
His exercise sessions with a personal trainer largely involve bench presses, chin-ups, kettlebells and press-ups. Among his ‘simple secrets’, Gregg suggests eating a big breakfast, to ensure he stays full throughout the morning, tracking fitness through apps, cutting down alcohol intake and regularly weighing oneself.
Showcasing his new-found six-pack on Instagram, his transformation has inspired others to follow suit and make necessary changes.
Gregg Wallace’s weight loss business venture
Not satisfied with changing his own life for the better, Greg Wallace recently launched his own wellness platform and fitness plan. The ShowMe.Fit website can be subscribed to for £7 a month.
That subscription provides advice from nutrition experts and workouts from fitness professionals. Gregg also offers recommendations and recipes that make ideal weight-loss tasty meals, along with the customary motivational advice.
On the website, the TV chef says the main problem those looking to lose weight experience is the fact they have no one to show them how it is done, adding: “This is not a diet. It is a lifestyle change, a gradual, comfortable process into a long lasting healthier, slimmer you.”
