Greg Olsen Explains What Travis Kelce Must Do to Become Best Tight End Ever

In the wake of Travis Kelce’s latest Super Bowl victory, the Chiefs tight end finds himself in the conversation for the greatest player ever at his position. The eight-time Pro Bowler often is compared to former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski along with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez in the debate.

During an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, former Panthers tight end and current Fox broadcaster Greg Olsen weighed in on the debate and said Kelce is on track to become the greatest tight end ever.

“I’ve said on record: If Kelce has another even year or two like the last seven, in my mind, he goes down as the best ever,” Olsen said.

Kelce is currently on a historic pace. He has racked up over 1,000 receiving yards for seven consecutive seasons and ranks fourth all-time in receiving yards among tight ends behind only Gonzalez, Jason Witten and Antonio Gates. Gonzalez holds the record for most receptions (1,325) and receiving yards (15,127) by a tight end in NFL history.

“I never in a million years would’ve thought anyone would ever catch Gonzalez,” Olsen said.

Kelce, 33, shows no signs of slowing down and will be looking to win his third Super Bowl this winter.
