Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell improved to 3-0 as an NFL starter last week after leading his team to a 35-33 win over the Denver Broncos.
Howell faces a significant challenge on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills come to town. Buffalo is one of the NFL’s top teams, led by star quarterback Josh Allen and a stout defense.
Buy Commanders TicketsIn the win over the Broncos, Howell completed 27 of 39 passes for 299 yards with two touchdowns. The Commanders trailed 21-3 at one point in the game, and Howell led them back with multiple big-time plays, such as his 30-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
That throw to McLaurin impressed NFL Films guru Greg Cosell, who broke down several things the Commanders, specifically Howell, did on the play.

One comment from Cosell that stood out:
“That’s refined, nuanced quarterback play for a player in his third NFL start,” Cosell said.
High praise from Cosell.
