Green Party leader Eamon Ryan's mother has died following an accident while on holiday on the west coast of Ireland.
Mary Ryan, who lived in Sandycove, died "unexpectedly but peacefully" on Tuesday according to a notice on RIP.ie. Her funeral mass is set to take place on Saturday in Glasthule.
According to the Irish Independent Ms Ryan was on Inisbofin Island off the coast of Galway when the accident happened. She was taken by air ambulance to Galway University Hospital where she later died.

Her RIP notice reads: "RYAN (née Cahill) (Sandycove, Co. Dublin) August 9, 2022 (unexpectedly but peacefully) Mary, beloved wife of the late Bob, loving mother of John, Eamon, Robert and Marion; Sadly missed by her children and their partners, her adored grandchildren Harriet, Lorcan, Séamus, Fintan, Isabella, Jack, Oliver, Ino, Tom, Róise, Sean and Harry, great-grandson George, her sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.
"Removal Saturday (August 13) from her home to St Joseph’s Church, Glasthule arriving for 10am Funeral Mass which can be viewed online on www.churchservices.tv/glasthule followed by burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton."
