The line-up of one of Wales' best-loved and biggest annual music festivals, Green Man, has just been announced and there are several big names hitting the Glanusk Estate in the Brecon Beacons National Park this year. The festival has been running since 2003 and celebrated its 20th anniversary last year with names like Michael Kiwanuka, Beach House, and Metronomy headlining. This year the event will fall on August 17-20 and its popularity among music fans is clear to see as tickets for the four-day weekend sold out rapidly when they were released in September 2022.
Musical stars from the UK and beyond will be making their way to Wales this August with names including Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, American rock band Devo, English indie rock band Spiritualized, Australlian punk band Amyl & The Sniffers, and Britian's Slowdive playing.
It seems American indie band The Walkmen are putting their hiaitus (which occured in 2013) on pause to play Green Man and will be joining Edinburgh's Young Fathers, Aussie electro-pop duo Confidence Man, 'cosmic' collective Goat, and so many more in Brecon. Also taking to the stage at Green Man will be acts closer to home such as Melin Melyn from Cardiff, Sister Wives, whose music is inspired by Welsh mythology, and Cardiff's DD Darillo.
