Alert the emo group chat because Green Day are coming to Australia next year for a massive tour alongside AFI.
As part of their biggest live shows to-date, the band will play two of their most iconic albums — Dookie and American Idiot — in full, along with a number of tracks from their new album Saviours and a bunch of other hits.
“We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together,” the band said in a statement.
“And we can not wait to return to Australia, it’s been way too long. So let’s thrash.”
If that wasn’t already sweet enough, they’ll be joined by AFI — who haven’t played any Australian shows since 2017.
The news comes after years of waiting for Green Day fans after the Hella Mega Tour — featuring Fall Out Boy and Weezer — was cancelled back in 2020 due to ongoing COVID restrictions. The last time the band actually played shows in Australia was way back in 2017 as part of the Revolution Radio tour.
The tour kicks off at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on March 1, 2025, followed by Engie Stadium in Sydney and CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast on March 3 and 5, respectively.
Artist pre-sale runs from Monday, September 16 – Thursday, September 19 – with Gold Coast from 1pm, Melbourne 2pm and Sydney at 3pm.
Vodafone & Commbank Mastercard pre-sales run from Tuesday, September 17 – Thursday, September 19 – with Gold Coast tickets available from 10am, Melbourne 11am and Sydney at 12pm.
Live Nation pre-sale runs from Thursday, September 19 – Friday, September 20 – Gold Coast from 11am, Melbourne from 12pm and Sydney from 1pm.
General public onsale begins on Friday, September 20, with Gold Coast tix dropping at 12pm, Melbourne at 1pm and Sydney at 2pm.
A number of VIP packages will also be available including guided tours, hospitality lounges, VIP entry, exclusive merch and more.
If you need me, I will be blasting “American Idiot” through my AirPods for the rest of the day until my ears bleed.
Ticket information is available via Live Nation.
