Green Brigade's efforts shine as Celtic fans fill vans for local food banks

A prominent Celtic supporters group has revealed that over £20,000 was raised by football fans on Saturday in aid of their annual Christmas food bank collection.

Celtic played host to Ross County with 58,436 people descending on Parkhead for the Scottish Premiership clash, which ended in a 5-0 home victory.

The Green Brigade urged punters to bring along a physical donation too, and they managed to fill seven large vans with goods that will be distriputed to food banks located in Glasgow and the West.

A social media post from North Curve Celtic on Monday night read: "Big thank you to all who donated to our annual foodbank collection on Saturday.

"This enormous act of solidarity and generosity from the Celtic support will help those most in need this Christmas."
