Green Brigade hand Celtic Champions League welcome to remember as Real Madrid met by wall of colour

Celtic supporters group The Green Brigade have unveiled their latest tifo in the blockbuster meeting with Real Madrid.

The display spanning their entire standing section area at Parkhead featured a large banner with plenty of pyrotechnics to boot. Real Madrid were warned beforehand that they would be met by a vocal Celtic support and it wasn't a promise that went unfulfilled, with a packed 60,000 capacity crowd awaiting the Champions League holders.

A statement from the Green Brigade ahead of the match read: "Real Madrid suffered defeat on their last visit to Celtic Park 42 years ago. To emulate that famous night will require a united effort from the stands and pitch. The support has a duty to reignite the once-feared Celtic Park fortress and make our home hostile and intimidating for the visitors. We must rally behind our team and remain with them, demonstrating patience and encouragement at all times."

It's not the first time a big tifo has been unveiled at Celtic Park this season, with supporters going the extra mile for matches against Aberdeen and Rangers in the Premiership.

Their first home match of the term against the Dons saw a stadium-wide display to celebrate Ange Postecoglou's side winning the kings of Scotland title last season.

Then against Rangers they displayed another large wall of colour which branded the message 'today we dare to win', taken up emphatically by their team who won 4-0 against Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team.
