Greece confirms major change for UK travellers ahead of Easter holidays

Greece has relaxed its entry requirements ahead of the Easter holidays.

The popular hotspot has announced arrivals will no longer need to fill out the pre-travel form to enter the country - as Mirror Online reports.

The change will come into force from March 15 - and means fully vaccinated Brits will only need to show proof of their vaccination.

To be considered fully vaccinated, holidaymakers will need to have completed their full course at least 14 days before travel.

If your vaccination was completed over nine months ago, you'll also need a booster jab to qualify.

Holidaymakers who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated will still need to show either proof of recovery, or a negative covid test result.

This can be either a PCR test taken within 72 hours before arrival, or an antigen test taken within 24 hours.

There are hopes the UK could follow in Greece's footsteps and scrap passenger locator forms in time for Easter.

The UK's travel rules already eased back in February. Under the changes, fully vaccinated arrivals no longer need covid tests before or after arriving in the UK.

For unvaccinated arrivals there are still pre-departure and post-arrival tests, although the requirement to self-isolate for 10 days has ended.

Travel restrictions can change quickly during the pandemic so always check the latest Foreign Office advice for your chosen destination before booking or going on a trip abroad.
