A thunderstorm warning has been put in place for Greater Manchester today.
With autumn well underway, it feels like the bright sun and hot temperatures from a couple of months ago are a distant memory.
Unfortunately, temperatures are likely to continue to get colder alongside increased wind speeds. However, this doesn't mean the rain will constantly batter the streets of Greater Manchester.
On Thursday, showers will be extremely prominent, lasting throughout most of the day while temperatures will consistently stay at 13C well into the evening. Despite this, wind speeds will be moderate, peaking at 11mph in the late evening while staying at below 10mph in the morning and afternoon.

The Met Office also issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms on Thursday morning for parts of Greater Manchester which will be in place until 1pm on Thursday. It means that some areas could see flooding, resulting in damage to some buildings.
There will also be disruptions to traffic and public transport services such as trains and buses.
Friday will see a small improvement in temperature but this comes at the cost of more rain and drastically higher wind speeds. Temperatures will peak at 16C from 12pm to 6pm, according to the Met Office, while wind speeds will stay above 20mph from the morning until the evening, peaking at 24mph from 1pm to 3pm.
The Met Office said Friday will see "showers continue throughout the day, inbetween sunny spells". It added: "These may be heavy with a risk of thunder. Fairly light southeasterly winds, though breezy at the coast and within showers. Maximum temperature 18 °C."
However, the weekend will see a considerable improvement in conditions with Saturday providing a welcome break from the rainy weather. Early predictions from the Met Office state that temperatures will peak at 16C with partly cloudy conditions to sunny intervals by the late morning.
According to the Met Office, this weekend will, fortunately, be "perhaps less windy" compared to the days before. Despite the improved conditions on Saturday, the rain will be making a comeback on Sunday, occasionally reappearing throughout the rest of next week.
