Greater Manchester set to be hotter than Ibiza on Good Friday

Greater Manchester will see the weather act much calmer today compared to the previous week.

Fortunately, this means there will be a high chance of the sun coming out to brighten up the sky, bringing with it warmer temperatures. While the sun is predicted to be most prevalent in the morning, it doesn't mean the afternoon or evening will be any colder.

As a result, Greater Manchester will be hotter than some popular holiday destinations across the Easter Period. According to the Met Office: "Low cloud, mist and fog will slowly clear on Thursday morning, with sunny spells forming by late morning. Feeling warm in the afternoon sunshine and with light winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C."

This morning the sun will be out from 7am to 11am with temperatures starting at 8C and steadily reaching 13C by the start of the afternoon. Unfortunately, after 11am, the sun will disappear for the most part leaving cloudy skies for the remainder of the afternoon and evening.

Despite this, temperatures will continue to rise throughout the afternoon and evening, peaking at 17C between 4pm and 5pm. Temperatures will continue to stay high well into the evening which will carry onto the start of the weekend.

As we welcome the Easter period on Good Friday, temperatures will peak at 20C, making it hotter than Ibiza which will only peak at 18C. Therefore if any of your friends have gone abroad for the Easter holidays you can likely boast to them that the weather is better back home.

As for the start of the weekend, the Met Office added: "Mostly dry into the Easter weekend. Occasionally cloudy during the mornings, but turning brighter through the day, with just a small chance of an afternoon shower. Warm in the sun."
