Greater Manchester's cheapest streets where homes sell for less than £50,000

Finding a reasonably priced home is often hard to come by these days.

As house prices continue to soar across the country, you're now looking at a price of around £244,159 for a standard home in Greater Manchester.

Thankfully, on the more affordable end of the region's property market, there are certain areas where homes are known to sell at a much cheaper price.

In the boroughs of Wigan, Oldham, Bolton and Rochdale, you are much more likely to snap up a home for a bargain.

A new tool by Property Solvers has now located the streets with the lowest-priced homes, by looking at average house prices across the region.

Below are Greater Manchester's top 10 cheapest streets to live on, where you can expect the average price of a home to range anywhere from £33,000 to £45,600.

Culzean Close, Wigan

The cheapest street to live on in the region is Culzean Close in Leigh.

Here, three properties sold for an average price of £33,3000.

Baguley Crescent, Rochdale

This street in Middleton is the second lowest-priced street in Greater Manchester.

Six properties sold for an average of £35,500 on this street in Rochdale.

Drake Close, Oldham

Drake Close in Oldham is another cheap street to live on, with an average house price of £36,000.

Oldham Road, Rochdale

With five properties selling for an average price of £39,200, Oldham Road in Rochdale is one of the lowest-priced streets to buy a home.

Kingfisher Court, Rochdale

The fifth least expensive street in Greater Manchester is Kingfisher Court in Rochdale.

The average house price on this street is £39,500.

Monmouth Street in Oldham (Google Maps)

Monmouth Street, Oldham

Three properties on Monmouth Street in Oldham sold for an average price of £42,500, making it one of the cheapest streets in the region.

Wardlow Street, Bolton

Wardlow Street in Bolton is also one of Greater Manchester's lowest priced street, where homes sell for an average of £44,300.

Savick Avenue, Bolton

The average house price on Savick Avenue in Bolton is £44,666, making it one of the region's cheapest streets.

Colwyn Street, Oldham

Properties on Colwyn Street in Oldham sell for an average price of £45,390.

Cecilia Street, Bolton

The last, least expensive street in Greater Manchester is Cecilia Street in Bolton, where you can buy a home for around £45,625.

Commenting on the tool's findings, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had more than three sales.

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, there were properties that sold for £750 and under on Demesne Road in Whalley Range, Avon Street in Oldham and White Brook Lane in Oldham."

This data has been gathered from HM Land Registry, based on average house prices over the last five years.
