A block of flats in Greater Manchester appears to be ablaze as large plumes of smoke pout into the air.
The fire is thought to have broken out at a mill in Radcliffe with huge clouds of black smoke seen billowing from the scene.
Onlookers reported seeing huge numbers of fire units, as crews rushed to tackle the flames. Pictures shared to social media showed the clouds of thick smoke could be seen from a distance as they swelled over the city, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for more information, as have the fire service.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "Just after 9:15pm this evening (Tuesday 31 May) we were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Milltown Street, Radcliffe.
"Eight fire engines were quickly mobilised to the scene, where crews found a single-storey building well alight and generating a significant plume of smoke.
"Firefighters are currently working hard to tackle the blaze in sectors using jets and hose reels. Residents in the area are advised to keep their windows and doors closed at this time.”
