Greater Manchester bank holiday Monday weather forecast and how warm it's set to get

Greater Manchester will enjoy another day of fine weather today (Monday May 29) as the bank holiday weekend draws to a close. Although it will be slightly cloudier and feel cooler than recent days.

Yesterday the Met Office confirmed that Sunday (May 28) was the UK’s hottest day of the year so far, with highs of 24.4C recorded in some areas, including Plymouth. Temperatures reached a high of 20C in some parts of Greater Manchester.

The weather for bank holiday Monday is set to be pleasant and mild, with highs of 19C forecast for Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Wigan, although it may feel slightly cooler. Most areas will experience a cloudy start with sunny intervals throughout the day.

Highs of 18C are predicted for Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Stockport according to the Met Office. The mercury is expected to reach 17C in Tameside, while Oldham will feel a bit chillier at 16C.

It’s good news if you’ve got a barbecue planned later today though as a sunny evening is forecast across Greater Manchester, with the clouds clearing up. Looking ahead at the rest of the week, we can expect warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine, with highs of 21C forecast on Tuesday.

Forecasting the weather for the North West for later this week, the Met Office said: “High pressure is dominating the weather and is keeping it fine and settled. Temperatures gradually rising towards the end of the week so continuing to feel warm in the sunshine.”
