Great Western Railway trains cancelled after person hit by train on London Paddington line

Trains between Reading and London Paddington will be cancelled or delayed due to a person being hit by a train. Great Western Railway made the announcement on social media just before 1pm on July 6.

GWR said all lines between the two stations are blocked, therefore delays could be as long as 90 minutes, and disruption is expected until 3.30om this afternoon. Arrangements have been made however for South Western Railway to convey passengers between London Waterloo and Reading in both directions until further notice.

Elsewhere, Chiltern Railways will transport passengers between London Marleybone and Oxfor and CrossCountry are conveying passengers between Reading and Oxford in both directions until further notice.

GWR train tickets will be accepted for all of these journeys. People who due to travel are advised to check their journey on the GWR website.

A statement on the GWR reads: "Due to a person hit by a train between Reading and London Paddington all lines are blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes. Disruption is expected until 15:30 06/07.

"Chiltern Railways are conveying passengers between London Marylebone and Oxford in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

"South Western Railway are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

"CrossCountry are conveying passengers between Reading and Oxford in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys."
