The Great North Air Ambulance Service's helicopter touched down in a supermarket car park on Saturday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at 12.33pm on April 23 and the aircraft's crew responded to a report of a medical incident on Sunderland Road, Gateshead.
Pictures and video show the air ambulance landing in an Aldi car park on Sunderland Road just before 1pm this afternoon. They show the ambulance landing on the tar mac beside a number of parked cars.
But once the air craft had landed its crew was stood down. The North East Ambulance Service transported the patient to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.33pm to a medical incident on Sunderland Road, Gateshead. We arrived at the scene at 12.45pm but were stood down.
"The patient was transported to the hospital by the North East Ambulance Service."
