Millwall have confirmed the signing of Leeds United centre back Charlie Cresswell. Cresswell has signed a season-long-loan deal with the Lions and becomes Leeds’ second departure of the day after Kalvin Phillips’ move to Manchester City.
His move to the Den is set to be the next stage in his development as he seeks regular game time following his breakthrough into Leeds’ first team last season. The England U21 international made six appearances across all competitions, including five in the Premier League.
Cresswell remains highly rated by both the club and supporters and so a loan move would stand him in good stead ahead of potentially becoming a regular at Elland Road next season. So with that in mind, here is a look at how fans have reacted to his departure.

@_Simmo_04: “I’m sorry but he needs to be playing for us never mind going out on loan to Millwall.”
@LUFC1984LUFC: “Why keep him when he’s not going to be playing much first team? It’s best for us and himself to go get regular game time.”
@magic_wroe: “Great move for him, if he gets the game time he’ll come back a monster.”
@MOTweets1919: “Will be a great move if he gets 30+ starts under his belt.”
@lufcThommo: “Good luck Charlie! Millwall getting a top player there.”
@TimHoolahan: “Future captain, needs to be playing week in week out, but he’s good enough for the Prem already.”
@markydh: “Others may disagree, but I think this is a really good move for him. He’s a no-nonsense CB who will fit in perfectly at Millwall and I’m sure he will come back a better player for the experience. Give it two years and he’ll be our first choice CB and maybe even captain.”
@Frankfal2: “I think this is a good move for Charlie. I hope we have a recall clause for January though, just in case we need him back.”
@nicklufc14: “Good move for him set him up to be a regular for us in the coming years, good luck to you Charlie not to Millwall.”
@AnotherLeedsFan: “Go and smash it Charlie, I think you’ve got a big future for us very soon so a bit more experience and game time will only benefit you.”
