The great-grandmother of Welsh rugby international Josh Adams took to the waters for the first time in years having expressed a wish to go swimming. Kitty Adams, 98, was supported by her son and staff at the care home where she lives to fulfil her wish which left her "on the verge of tears."
The Llys-Y-Tywysog Residential Home resident, from Swansea, has lived at the home for two years and is "beloved" by staff and residents. Her wish to go swimming came to light after she wrote it down on a piece of paper and adding it to the wishing jar.
Staff at the home in Grovesend all pulled together to make sure Kitty's dream became a reality and were there to see the smile on her face as she got back into the water, which gave her so much joy in her youth.

Kitty said: "I was on the verge of tears. It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me that they helped me to get back in the water after such a long time – I felt like a child again."
It proves that age is only a number and that sporting ability in the Adams family is not just consigned to Cardiff Rugby and British Lions winger Josh. It was worth it for staff to see how happy Kitty was being back in the pool.
Michelle Bowen, general manager at Llys-Y-Tywysog Residential Home, said: “We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Llys-Y-Tywysog. It was so nice to see how happy Kitty was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well. We would like to thank the staff at Penyrheol Leisure Centre for helping us make Kitty's wish come true."
