Great British Rail Sale: Tickets from Bristol Temple Meads to London for less than £20

Train passengers can get massive discounts on their travel in the next few weeks as part of the 'Great British Rail Sale'. A huge range of fares from Bristol Temple Meads have been cut by up to 50 per cent in the sale, with discounted tickets available on journeys from April 25 until May 27.

As part of this deal, you can get a one-way ticket from Temple Meads to London Paddington for just £18. And if you fancy soaking up some sunshine on the south coast, you can travel to St Ives or Penzance for just £19.

You can also take a day trip to Birmingham on the cheap, with tickets to New Street selling for just £12.60. The government says this sale is the first of its kind, and has been designed to ease some of the pressure on families during the current cost of living crisis.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “For the first time ever, operators across the rail industry are coming together to help passengers facing rising costs of living by offering up to 50% off more than a million tickets on journeys across Britain. There’s no better time to visit friends, family or just explore our great country, so book your tickets today.”

Jacqueline Starr, CEO of the Rail Delivery Group, said: “We want everyone to be able to benefit from travelling by train because it’s more than just a journey, it’s a way to connect everyone to the people, places and things they love. As part of the Great British Rail Sale customers will enjoy over 1 million discounted tickets, so they can explore some of the fantastic locations that are accessible by rail”.
