When does Great British Bake Off 2019 start?

Great British Bake Off is back for another late summer of scrumptious pies, cakes, and Hollywood approved pittas.

Today, the Channel 4 show revealed its official start date of Tuesday, August 27.

From the baking show's official Twitter account, it read: "Every adventure requires a first bake. Join us on Tuesday 27th August for the return of The Great British Bake Off! #GBBO".

Since the major shake-up in 2017 of both judges and presenters when the show switched channel, this year will mark the third series to hit Channel 4, and the show's 10th overall after being originally aired on BBC.

As seen in today's snippet, presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig will return to wreak havoc for the 12 contestants, and judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will join them as the usual judging panel.

The 2019 lineup of amateur bakers hoping to impress Paul and Prue is yet to be announced, but we'll update you once we know who the contestants are.

In the meantime, you can watch the show's trailer here, which of course features Paul's golden handshake.
