The Great Bristol Run takes place on Sunday with thousands of people challenging themselves over either a 10km course or a half marathon on Sunday (September 25) morning.
The day will see as many as 15,000 people taking part and the course will twist and turn its way around the Old City, Redcliffe, the city centre, Hotwells and the Harbourside.
The major event will see a number of roads around the city centre closed for varying amounts of time - organisers are running a rolling programme of road closures to allow the races to go ahead safely, but at the same time minimise the disruption to motorists and cyclists as the day continues.

The first roads will start to close at 4am on Sunday, September 25 and all roads should be reopened by 5pm, and while some will remain closed all day, the roads in some areas are being put together with a rolling programme of closures.
"Roads will be reopened in phases once each section is clear of runners, litter and event infrastructure," said a spokesperson for the event.
"During the road closure vehicular access will not be possible. Unless otherwise stated or pre-agreed. We appreciate that road closures can cause some inconvenience but your cooperation would be appreciated in assisting the City of Bristol to host this prestigious sporting event. Pedestrian and emergency service access will be maintained to all properties throughout the event.
The Great Bristol Run will begin at 9am and the thousands of runners will be at the starting line at different times, so waves of runners will be making their way around the course throughout the day. Organisers have warned that if cars are left on closed roads and are in the way, they will be lifted and taken to either the Portwall Lane car park or the SS Great Britain car park - whichever is nearest.
Both the 10k and the half marathon start on Anchor Road, close to the Jacobs Wells Road roundabout. Runners on both races will head west along Hotwell Road into Hotwells and the only difference between the two routes happens at the Cumberland Basin - runners doing the half marathon then go around three miles up and back down the A4 Portway before rejoining the same route as the 10k.
The route for both then crossing Merchants Bridge to Spike Island and then heads along the north bank of the River Avon New Cut on Cumberland Road, before turning left at the Louisiana, crossing Prince Street Bridge and then up and around Queen Square. The route then weaves around Queen Square, back on to Prince Street, around past the Mud Dock, up Welsh Back and then over Bristol Bridge. There's then a circuit of Redcliffe down to St Mary Redcliffe Church and back up to Finzels Reach, crossing the Floating Harbour at St Philips Bridge, around Castle Park and back down Baldwin Street, to The Centre. Runners will then do a lap of The Centre, before heading into the final straight, going past the Hippodrome and the Watershed, before the finishing line back on Anchor Road in front of We The Curious.
