Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has won the team's Player of the Month award for April.
In a poll voted for by fans at Arsenal.com, the player beat midfield partner Mohamed Elneny to the award for his performances over the past few games. Xhaka was tremendous in wins against Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League. The 3-1 victory over United saw the Swiss find the back of the net with an effort from outside the box.
On winning the award, Xhaka said: "I want to say thank you very much for voting me as Player of the Month. It's very special for me, but I want to say thank you as well for the support. Of course at home, but away as well. We will try to achieve our goals for this season."

Manager Mikel Arteta praised the midfielder's contributions to the team ahead of Sunday's fixture against West Ham United, where the Gunners will be looking to make it three wins on the spin. "[His renaissance is due to] things that are happening in his life, his private life, he's a father now.
"He's been through a lot, he's been through difficult moments here, he's found a lot of support internally to deal with certain situations.
"His character, the way he approaches problems, how he's willing to change things, improve constantly, to become a better person and a better player, so credit to him for what he's done."
Xhaka has come back from being stripped of the Arsenal captaincy and nearly leaving the club in the summer to being one of the first names on the teamsheet in recent weeks and stepping up when Thomas Partey was ruled out for the rest of the season earlier this month.
