Grangemouth man posted naked pictures of girlfriend on Snapchat after row

A man posted naked photos of his girlfriend on Snapchat with a mouse's head instead of her own.

Scott Ralston, 47, did it as "a joke", Falkirk Sheriff Court was told today.

Prosecutor Rose Wilson said the pair had been in a relationship for three years at the time of the incident, on August 18th 2020.

She said: "They had an argument and she left. Around 10 minutes later she received a Snachat message from the accused asking her to come back, and she observed naked images of herself on his Snapchat story.

"She immediately returned to speak to the accused, asked him to take them down, and she thereafter managed to delete them."

Ralston, of Grangemouth, pleaded guilty to posting a photograph of his partner with her breasts exposed.

The court heard it was agreed between the Crown and the defence that there was no significant sexual element to the offence.

Solicitor-advocate Martin Morrow, defending, said: "They had an argument, he sent her a message with a mouse's head on top of her body saying, 'why don't you come back and talk?' She comes back, she says get that down, and he does.

"The mouse's head was there as a disguise.

"It was meant to be a joke, but it didn't work out terribly well.

"It was all resolved within 13 minutes."

Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until June 24th (2022) for Ralston to be of good behaviour, and for the case to be dealt with along with another matter.
