Rachael Blackmore’s ride Ain't That A Shame could go off as favourite for the 2023 Grand National after a surge of market support for the Henry De Bromhead-trained horse in the last two days.
Having been available at a general 20/1 at the start of the week, the nine-year-old is now 9/1 with most bookmakers for Saturday’s big race. Blackmore, of course, became the first female jockey to win the National with Minella Times in 2021.
Ain't That A Shame’s closest market rival is Delta Work, who is also around 9/1 for the Aintree showpiece. Delta Work, trained by Gordon Elliott, won the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March and finished third in last year’s National.

Corach Rambler, who had been the ante-post favourite, remains strong in the betting at around 10/1 while 2022 National winner Noble Yeats has dropped to around 14/1, with more late support coming in for Gaillard Du Mesnil and Mr Incredible.

They say: "Delta Work was beaten 22 lengths by Noble Yeats when third last year, but while that one has been hiked 15lb, the selection will actually carry 5lb less than 12 months ago after some mixed results in the interim. There could be no arguing with the merit of his prep run though, following the same path as last year to fend off stablemate and reopposing rival Galvin in the cross-country chase at the Cheltenham Festival, with Delta Work keeping on well to win by two and a half lengths despite having a 7lb deficit on official ratings."
