Grand National 2023: Aintree weather forecast for Thursday, Ladies Day and Saturday

Spring weather can be hard to predict, which is all the more frustrating when the Grand National at Aintree comes around.

Aintree's clerk of the course Sulekha Varma is responsible for planning the upkeep of the racecourse and preventing it from becoming boggy. The course is described as “good, with some slightly softer areas.”

Sulekha told the Racing Post: "It's a changeable forecast so we're trying not to jump the gun until we absolutely have to.” Unpredictable weather also plays havoc with those looking to visit Aintree for a day's racing. Visitors will have to decide whether to wear hats, pack umbrellas or don sunglasses for the Grand National.
