Grand Designs' 'bendy' rustic wooden house on sale for a whopping £1.65m

Grand Designs' incredible wooden home has been put on the market for a whopping £1.65million.

The Cornwall home, which is made out of steamed wood, is owned by Tom and Danielle Raffield and was featured on the property show a couple of years ago.

The 'bendy' abode, which is a 19th-century Grade II listed gamekeeper's cottage, was finished seven years ago and was designed entirely by the talented duo.

When they appeared on the Channel 4 programme, viewers got to witness their unique technique of bending the wood that would be attached to the cottage using a glass walkway.

The modern but rustic home features six bedrooms, three bathrooms and three living rooms. It sits on 4.6 acres of woods.

Speaking of their home, Tom said: "Our home is a low impact property, built from the materials that surround us, using resources from our local area, heated using ground source.

"The Old Game Keepers Lodge has won sustainability awards for best contribution to the built environment.

"But at the heart of this home things are much more simple, it's about connections, family and friends. Designed for the time we spend together, this house is a retreat, a little slice of woodland paradise."

Their home was completed in 2016 (Channel 4)

After a couple of years, the home has now been placed on the market for £1.65million.

It is listed on Lillicrap Chilcott with the description: "Enveloped in stunningly beautiful wooded grounds of about 4.6 acres, a Grade II Listed 6 bedroomed detached house of unique architectural significance blending a Victorian gamekeeper’s cottage with a magnificent woodland inspired modern wing of superb quality and volume that presents as a work of art."

The home also features an extensive open-plan kitchen/breakfast/family room, a utility room, a plant room, extensive balconies as well as gardens and walkways.
