With Halloween just a few days away, you may be planning for a weekend of festivities.
And no matter how old you are, carving a pumpkin is a fun and traditional way to bring in the spooky season, giving your home an extra touch of the fright factor.
Almost everyone carves them in a similar way - cutting out the top, hollowing out insides and then carving a face on the outside to be lit up by a candle in the middle.
But one woman on TikTok has shared a much simpler way of doing it, which is making people realise they've "done it wrong" their whole lives, the Mirror reports.
Grandma Babs, who posts videos under the username @brunchwithbabs, says you should cut pumpkins at the bottom instead of the top in a video about do's and don'ts of the spooky activity.
This "genius" method means that it will sit on top of the candle easier, and you won't risk burning yourself when placing the flame into the carved vegetable.
Captioning the viral clip, which has since racked up 24.6 million views, Babs said: "Carve from bottom. That way you have the stem to hold onto and you can easily slip the pumpkin right over a candle or flashlight."
Not only does it make the carving process a lot simpler, but you can also add a touch of sweet scent to your carve.
The grandmother-of-eight chose to sprinkle a dash of cinnamon in the inside of her pumpkin before placing the open bottom over a lit candle.
In the comments, users shared their thoughts and inevitable shock - with some going as far to say that their whole life has been a lie.
"The end shocked me. I have never seen the pumpkin cut from the bottom. Genius," one person gushed.
A second exclaimed: "I was today years old when I realised I've been doing this the hard way my entire life!!!!!!"
Another agreed: "God, I love you! I have been doing everything wrong in the last 40 plus years of my life!!!"
"I feel like my whole life has been a lie cutting the top," a fourth penned.
Meanwhile, a different user wrote: "My God, Babs, you NEVER fail to impress and teach me something new, and inspiring."
