Key Facts
Batiste—who was nominated for 11 Grammys and won five, more than any other artist—had his album We Are, which won Album of the Year, hit the No. 25 spot on the Billboard 200, which tracks the commercial success of albums, a high for the work.
We Are, which was released in March 2021, was the third best-selling album of the week, according to Billboard.
Jazmine Sullivan’s Heaux Tales, which won a Grammy for Best R&B album, re-appeared on the Billboard 200 at No. 164.
Olivia Rodrigo’s 2021 album Sour—which earned her Grammy wins for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for the song “drivers license”— returned to the top spot on Spotify’s weekly Top Albums Global and Top Albums U.S. charts, and maintained the no. 5 spot on the Billboard 200, where it sat last week.
Doja Cat’s album Planet Her, which spawned the Grammy-winning song “Kiss Me More,” jumped to the No. 2 spot on Spotify’s weekly Top Albums Global chart.
Justin Bieber’s album Justice jumped five spots to No. 3 on the Spotify chart after he performed the song “Peaches” on the Grammys stage, and Lil Nas X’s Montero jumped four spots on Spotify to no. 6 after he performed a medley of the album.
Key Background
The Grammys, which took place on April 3, were supposed to take place in January but were postponed because of the omicron Covid-19 surge happening at the time.
