Graham Potter told to axe two Chelsea stars in transfer plea amid perfect Todd Boehly answer

Todd Boehly has been told to replace both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of the January transfer window. The latter has enjoyed a great vein of form at Chelsea since Graham Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel in the dugout.

Kepa, who has ordinarily been Mendy's deputy, has featured in each of the former Brighton boss' maiden fixtures as Blues boss. The Spaniard has guided the west Londoners back into the top-four, keeping three clean sheets in five Premier League appearances this season.

He's also played a key role in Chelsea booking a place in the Champions League knockout stages, with impressive displays - home and away - versus AC Milan. All in all, Kepa has helped Potter remain unbeaten in nine games in his new job, which is some doing.

Despite this, former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has insisted that neither Kepa nor Mendy are good enough for Chelsea. Speaking to BonusCodeBets, the 58-year-old said: "He doesn't look confident in the goal.

"I don't think that Kepa is doing himself any justice. Kepa is not good enough, and neither is Edouard Mendy. I think most of the Chelsea fans would prefer to get a new goalkeeper, and I'm sure that Graham Potter would like to get a new goalkeeper as well.

"But Graham Potter has kept him in the starting lineup because of the good results so far, but Kepa is not the one who is making the difference. They are defending better as a team at this moment in time, and of course, Kepa is benefiting from that."

Gabriel Slonina is expected to join Chelsea in the New Year. The 18-year-old goalkeeper completed a £12million move from Chicago Fire in the summer transfer window before returning to the MLS side on loan for the remainder of the season.

As of August 11, he began a two-week training period with his new teammates. Potter has been able to get a closer look at the teenage sensation, who is widely considered one of the world's most exciting prospects.

The Blues are thought to have the final say as to where Slonina plays his football next year, with the MLS outfit eager to retain his services for another season. In truth, his prospects of first-team minutes look bleak, with Kepa and Mendy both vying for Potter's trust.

But if the Chelsea boss decides to listen to Parker's advice, then Slonina could be the perfect wildcard replacement.
