Graham Potter is now the second favourite to be the next Premier League manager out of a job after Chelsea lost 4-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. It was the second time in four days the Potter had been beaten by Pep Guardiola's men, falling short in the league game at Stamford Bridge on Thursday with a 1-0 loss.
Chelsea are now out of both domestic cups and are languishing in 10th, winning just once in their last nine domestic matches. It is a run that has coincided with a continuation of consistent injuries for Potter who saw the travelling fans turn to chants about former owner Roman Abramovich and Champions League-winning manager Thomas Tuchel during the second half.
Todd Boehly and Co have attempted to steady the ship at SW6 following a turbulent 2022 but their spending is yet to pay off and supporters are growing restless with the team's form deteriorating. It has seen the pressure ramped up on the former Brighton man and that is showing.

The new odds on SkyBet have Potter as the second most likely to get the sack, behind only Frank Lampard at Everton. Nathan Jones at Southampton isn't far behind him.
At 4/7 Lampard is still the favourite but Potter's odds have been cut to 5/1 after his fourth loss in five away matches. The Englishman was nine games unbeaten at the start of his time in London before a crushing 4-1 loss away to former club Brighton. Since then Chelsea have only scored three league goals in the five matches since.
The Blues are without 10 players due to injury currently but still have a squad full of talented individuals. Speaking after the match Potter said, "Like I’ve said, you can make excuses and look for reasons or you can say it’s not good enough.
"Both of those answers are correct so we have to keep improving and stick together because clearly we’re suffering as a football club and it’s not nice at all. That’s where we’re at at the moment."
He added: "We can’t do anything apart from do our jobs better and work harder. We understand the supporters’ frustration, that is understandable and we’ll respect that. Our job is to do our jobs, to keep working, see the situation for what it is, and of course, there are always other opinions, negativity and criticism because the results haven’t been positive. That’s part of the job and the challenge."
