Graham Potter set crucial Chelsea challenge to secure Todd Boehly Champions League ambition

Graham Potter has been told he must keep winning games at Chelsea. The Blues have had a rocky 2023 and there were calls for the former Brighton manager to be sacked.

However, Chelsea have now won three matches in a row and may have turned a corner. The 3-1 win against Leicester City on Saturday was also the first time Chelsea had scored three goals in a Premier League game since October.

Now, Potter must ensure his side keep winning and former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink has challenged the 47-year-old to do just that. Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday evening, Floyd-Hasselbaink said: "It is good that they are winning. Are they fully back how Potter wants them? No.

"They’ve always had something to fight for and they’re fighting for each other - he’s got a good group - and wins will only give you more confidence and will only make you believe you are good players - sometimes you forget. Sometimes you feel a little bit sorry for yourself when things are going against you and I think that’s what’s been happening with Chelsea.

"Three important wins, even though they haven’t played really that well against Leeds at home but they won by the skin of their teeth. It gives everybody around that place breathing space.

"Everybody wants Potter to do well, but obviously wins help and wins give people confidence, momentum and calms things down. Hopefully they can keep on winning."

Chelsea are currently tenth in the Premier League and face a battle to secure Champions League qualification next season, although Potter knows that if his side keep winning they will at least be in with a chance.
