Graham Potter sends positive David Moyes message ahead of West Ham vs Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter has heaped praise on the job David Moyes has done at West Ham ahead of the visit of Albion on Sunday.

Albion make the trip to east London looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season against a Hammers side yet to pick up a point in their opening two games.

Moyes is enjoying a stellar second spell in charge of the club after first being appointed in December 2017 on a six-month contract, which wasn't renewed at the end of the season.

Returning to the club in December 2019, Moyes has led the club to a UEFA Europa League semi-final and back to back top seven finishes in the Premier League.

The club have gone from strength to strength under his stewardship and are in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.

Speaking ahead of West Ham vs Brighton, Potter says there are a small number of clubs vying for top position in a league of their own, below the top six and above the relegation zone, noting that the Hammers have enjoyed a lot of success in this small group of teams since Moyes' arrival three years ago.

"I think what you have is apart from six teams, seven teams maybe, everyone has to feel that they are holding two positions which is, getting enough points to make sure you stay in the league and then you have ambition and that’s where we are," said Potter.

"I can’t comment on West Ham and where they see themselves, but that’s where we see ourselves and we see a lot of teams in that same bracket. West Ham have done really well for the last couple of years since David’s gone in there. They’ve invested quite a lot in terms of their squad and it’s only since David’s gone there that they’ve really had some success I would say."
