Graham Potter has confirmed that Jorginho is likely to be involved in Saturday's Chelsea squad that travels to St. James Park to face Newcastle.
The Italian midfielder missed Wednesday night's League Cup game against Manchester City with a foot problem and was perceived to be a doubt ahead of this weekend.
"Jorgi trained today," Potter confirmed to football.london. "Providing there's no reaction, he should be in the squad." This will be of relief to Potter, whose injury list has continued to grow since taking charge in September. Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell and Kepa Arrizabalaga are all out of action until after the World Cup, whilst N'Golo Kante faces a lengthier absence after having surgery on a hamstring issue.

The 47-year-old head coach also reflected on the intense period of games over the past month across three competitions, the last of which takes place on Saturday evening at Newcastle, and also spoke about the plans for the World Cup break.
"We'll have a break, come back, a bit of training and off to a warm weather camp," Potter explained. "There will be a couple of games to prepare for the restart."
Chelsea are heading to Abu Dhabi next month with at least one friendly expected before the Blues next play a Premier League game against Bournemouth on the 27th of December.
Potter was also pressed on the recent poor form that has seen Chelsea fail to win any of their last four league games, losing their last two against Brighton and Arsenal.
"We've learnt it changes fairly quickly. We had a good result at Salzburg, and then it went wrong at Brighton. But that's a part of life. You have to suffer sometimes.
"Our performance against Arsenal wasn't good, but I thought we played well against Man City. It's always a process, and I'm pretty sure there are going to be lots of things that enter the head as we have time."
