Graham Potter says he needs the time that was afforded to Arsenal's Mikel Arteta and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp in order to turn around Chelsea's terrible run of form.
Potter is under mounting pressure after his side were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Blues have won just two of their past 15 Premier League matches and are 10th, 14 points adrift of Spurs in fourth place.
The miserable run has seen Chelsea score just six times in their past 16 matches in all competitions, despite huge expenditure in the transfer market since Todd Boehly's consortium took over in May. They once again looked blunt in attack against Tottenham and now suffered three straight defeats in all competitions.
Oliver Skipp opened the scoring with a thumping drive just after half-time before Harry Kane sealed the win for Spurs with a tap-in at the back post from a corner. Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have stuck by Potter so far - and he has implored them to remain patient, with time needed to shape his raw squad.
Asked in his post-match press conference whether he still had support from above, Potter said: "Well, there's always that question, absolutely. And you can't stop the questions. And while the results are like they are, I accept them - it's part of the job.
"We were talking before the game about watching All or Nothing and Arsenal, two years into Mikel's reign he's close to getting the sack and people are wanting him out and it's a disaster. And now things have changed a little bit - and that's just the way it is.

"If you look at Jurgen's situation - they haven't got results and all of a sudden people want him out, that's just the nature of football. Obviously I haven't done enough at this club to have too much good faith, and I also accept that.
"My job is not to worry too much about that, to understand the question and where it comes from, totally, and to focus on keep helping the team and keep supporting the players, because I really like these players. They're good lads and they want to win, but at the moment we're suffering - and that's my responsibility."
Chelsea were fortunate not to go in at half-time 1-0 down and a man down after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg hit the post and Hakim Ziyech saw his red card overturned by VAR. But they did not make the most of their reprieve, with Skipp opening the scoring straight after the break.
Skipp controlled Enzo Fernandez's poor clearance before smashing a powerful shot through the grasp of Kepa Arrizabalaga to score his first goal for Spurs. Potter made changes, bringing on Mason Mount and Denis Zakaria, but the Blues could not find a way through.
Kane made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute when he turned in Eric Dier's flick-on at the back post. Mykhaylo Mudryk and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were summoned off the bench, but the attacking duo could not change Chelsea's miserable drought in front of goal.
