Graham Potter has admitted that support from the owners won't last forever after Chelsea lost again in a run that sees his side bordering on dropping into the bottom half. After a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday it is only goal difference that keeps them in 10th.
It is now also just two wins in 15 matches, one in 11 and a continuation of goalscoring woes that has plagued the team since October. With cries for him to be sacked coming vocally from social media and increasingly in the stands as well, the 47-year-old is under huge pressure.
It is believed that Todd Boehly and Co keep faith in him turning things around at Stamford Bridge but Potter doesn't expect that support to be unwavering if things remain bleak. Speaking after the game he said: "Of course [results test the relationship] it's the same as anyone in any job, anywhere.

"This is where our responsibilities lie and if results aren't good enough, which they aren't at the moment, you can't rely on support forever, that's for sure.
"My job is to go and keep working with the team and change the moment because the players are hurting, that's for sure, they're giving everything, they're there, they want the results to get better, I can feel it in the dressing room and they're hurting, it's a tough moment for us."
Potter appears to maintain the backing of the owners with no immediate decision on his future expected despite the run of results. Chelsea face historic rivals Leeds next weekend before playing the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund.
The former Brighton man is still confident that he can turn things around though. "Yes because I know the personality and the quality of the team," he added.
"I also know that we've had a tough period of time where confidence isn't massively high and we've had a bit of a tough situation but I know the personality of the group and the dressing room. The response this week in training has been fantastic. We just haven't been able to transfer that into results on the pitch, it's frustrating."
He also explained that he doesn't warrant blind faith from the supporters either, adding: "I haven't done enough at this club to have too much good faith. I accept that. My job isn't to worry too much about that. I understand the question but I have to keep focusing on the team and helping the players."
