Graham Potter has revealed Chelsea stance on Christian Pulisic transfer after Boehly talks

Graham Potter has already spoken on Christian Pulisic's future at Chelsea amid speculation the USA international could leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Pulisic has struggled to nail down a starting spot ever since his move to the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, often falling victim to Chelsea's other options in his position. In previous years that included the likes of Willian, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and even Timo Werner, who was deployed out wide at times, while there is even more competition for places this season with Raheem Sterling, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke all joining.

As a result, Pulisic has been linked with a move away from the club despite his current injured status. The 24-year-old picked up a knee problem in the Premier League defeat to Manchester City earlier this month.

Reports in Europe have claimed AC Milan have opened negotiations to sign Pulisic in January while Newcastle United have also been tipped to move for the winger. But Potter has made his stance clear, stating that he wants Pulisic to stay at the club.

Potter said earlier in January: "No chance (of Pulisic leaving), no. There was never any consideration of anything about that anyway but he's a couple of months. He's disappointed but he's optimistic that he can come back quicker than the two months so he's in that phase where he's just trying to keep his fingers crossed and hopefully his rehab goes well."

That ties in with what Pulisic said about his positive meeting with owner Todd Boehly at the start of the season, when he told The Metro: “At the end of the season, we were able to meet with them and they were around the club a lot. They are really good people so I’m excited moving forward.”

Pulisic has started just six Premier League matches so far this season, scoring one and assisting another with Chelsea sitting 10th in the top-flight. He will have 12 months left to run on his contract at the end of the season.
