Chelsea boss Graham Potter is seemingly unwilling to let Conor Gallagher leave Stamford Bridge. Football.london understands Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have both expressed their interest Gallagher on loan in January, the head coach is hoping to keep the midfielder at the club.
Gallagher burst onto the Premier League scene in 2020 after shining in a loan spell with West Brom. The following season, the England youth international established himself in Crystal Palace's midfield during a loan spell with the Eagles.
That fine form at Selhurst Park saw then Blues boss Thomas Tuchel hand Gallagher his Chelsea debut. He's made 24 appearances for the Blues this season but fewer than half of those have been starts.

Patrick Vieira's side have been keen on taking him back to South London on loan, along with Newcastle United, but the club put a block on a summer move. New Chelsea boss Potter is understood to want to keep Gallagher at Stamford Bridge beyond the January window.
The England international was part of Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar, but like Nick Pope, wasn't afforded any game time during the tournament. Gallagher recently impressed Potter for with his performance during the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
"I thought he was fantastic; great energy and great quality," said Potter after the game. "He was playing against a team he respects and likes a lot.
"He’s been frustrated because he hasn’t had the game time that he would like but at the same time, he’s worked unbelievably professionally to support the team. So it’s nice today that he’s got that reward and was part of a winning performance."
