It's a long week until Chelsea take to the pitch again following their defeat to Southampton and not simply because the Blues don't play this midweek. Graham Potter's position in the Stamford Bridge hotseat has come under greater scrutiny than at any other point since taking the role of head coach in the summer.
The 47-year-old returned to training with his squad on Tuesday after two days off and now enter another fixture that can be deemed pivotal against Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea do not often lose against their London rivals and have not been defeated by the Lilywhites in the Premier League since 2018.
There was little in the way of positivity to take from the result as Chelsea took two steps back having taken one forward with the performance at least, against Borussia Dortmund. Whether they can find some strong strides against Spurs remains to be seen.
