Graham Potter decision time as shortlist emerges amid mounting Chelsea pressure

Graham Potter is feeling the pressure after another poor result put his future as Chelsea manager in serious doubt.

Saturday's meek 1-0 home defeat to Southampton drew boos from the Stamford Bridge faithful, and left the Blues 10th in the Premier League table. Despite two spending sprees by owner Todd Boehly in both the summer and January transfer windows, Chelsea are 11 points off the top four and look likely to miss out on Champions League football unless Potter can turn things around.

For now, it seems as though Boehly is intent on giving Potter time. The former Brighton boss has only been in charge for 24 games and has plenty of new players to integrate into his squad, though Sunday's London derby at Tottenham now looks a must-win game in more ways than one. An extensive shortlist has emerged to replace Potter as Chelsea boss - but who do you want in the Stamford Bridge hotseat? Vote to back Potter or pick your next Chelsea manager poll below...

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is currently free and looking for a job, but would his time in north London count against him? Another elite coach who is out of work is Luis Enrique, who left the Spain role after the World Cup. He won it all at Barcelona... as did Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, with Zizou yet another manager who Chelsea could pick up for nothing.

Looking closer to home, Brendan Rodgers was previously linked with the job, and would likely jump at the chance to coach another elite squad. Diego Simeone is an Atletico Madrid legend with a famous approach to discipline - could that work wonders on a disjointed Chelsea squad?

It may surprise some, but Thomas Tuchel is also among the bookies' favourites despite being sacked by Boehly in September. Could Boehly admit he make a mistake and re-hire the German? Jose Mourinho is also on the bookies' longlist for a potential third bite at the cherry in west London, while another ex-Blues boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is on there as well. He seems happy at Real Madrid, but we all know the reign of a Madrid boss is never a long one. Or - shock horror - should Potter be given time and stay in the job?

Once you have voted on who should be the next Chelsea manager above, get involved in the debate in the comments section below.
