Graham Norton names worst guest he ever had on his chat show as he recounts 'chilling' experience

Graham Norton has named disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein as the worst guest he has ever had on his chat show as he recalled a 'chilling' experience in hindsight.

The Corkman has been the host of naturally titled The Graham Norton Show for fifteen years on the BBC, having presented So Graham Norton on Channel 4 for four years before that.

Hundreds of famous faces have sat down on Graham's iconic sofas to have a chat with him over the years.

But while promoting his new book Forever Home, which was released last week, Graham revealed that he had a new answer for the worst person to have appeared on the BBC chat show over the years.

He told JOE: "I often talk around who my least favourite guest was, but now, someone reminded me, I have a really good answer to this now. It's Harvey Weinstein. He's in jail, so he gets the prize for the worst guest ever.

"And actually, it was weird, because he asked for my e-mail. And he e-mailed me something very nice, a complimentary thing. And then he decided he wanted to be on the show, because he was going to promote something."

Weinstein appeared alongside David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Jessie J on the show in 2015.

Having already replied that the show as fully booked, Graham noted how looking back, he had had a 'chilling' interaction with the producer, who is serving 23 years in prison after being convicted of sex charges in New York

"And it was a show that was fully booked, so I replied saying 'Oh, thank you so much, but the show is fully booked'. He e-mailed back: 'What if I blah de blah de blah'. [I replied] 'No, the show is fully booked, blah de blah.'

"But of course, now that we know what we know, that is what makes him a predator. It was that kind of weird, tunnel-vision thing. And it was sort of chilling in retrospect, because I was just laughing at those emails. But you realise 'Oh my God, that is an insight into how that man is'."
