Graffiti vandals ridicule Leeds vegan restaurant Meat is Dead with 'tasteless joke'

A Leeds vegan restaurant has been ridiculed by vandals who spray painted a tasteless joke across the building.

Meat is Dead in Kirkstall Road announced it was temporarily closing down at the end of May and hasn't reopened since. They described the closure as "incredibly sad" but a chance for a "shakeup" with the business.

While it had only had a short-lived run, having only opened in May last year, this is not the first time the restaurant has come under conflict. The restaurant received criticism for its customer service, with one diner accusing management of "gas lighting" him.

Graffiti was spotted all over the building on Saturday (August 6). Those passing will see the words 'Meat is Dead and buried' across the venue. With the phrase 'and buried' added below the restaurant's name on all sides of the venue, according to a passer-by.
