Graeme Souness tells Manchester United they are 'scraping through' to get Premier League wins

Manchester United have been told that they are only 'scraping through' to get their Premier League victories so far. Graeme Souness has suggested that Erik ten Hag's men cannot continue to play the way they have to keep picking up wins, after not being impressed with their performances.

United have looked much improved in their last two games, picking up wins against Liverpool and Southampton to kickstart their season. It comes after two disastrous performances to open the season with losses against Brighton and Brentford.

And whilst United fans, Ten Hag and players alike will be pleased, Souness has claimed that they should be cautious.

Souness said: "They are scraping through. They scraped through to beat Liverpool, they scraped through to beat Southampton - it's Manchester United, spending £240million.

"All the experts said Manchester United were great against Liverpool - they were good against Liverpool, they had 30 per cent of the ball against Liverpool - can you be great with that?

"Two wins? But have they been exciting? Man Utd have a tradition of being one of the best teams to watch."

United will hope to climb up the table once more on Thursday when they travel to Leicester City, with the Foxes sitting bottom of the table.
