Graeme Souness has admitted that he is "not sure anymore" about Leeds United's chances of staying in the Premier League following their 1-0 defeat to Everton.
Illan Meslier's near-post misjudgement proved to be one of the most pivotal moments in Leeds' relegation battle so far this season. Seamus Coleman's speculative effort saw Everton claim all three points and leapfrog the Whites in the table, when a win for Michael Skubala's side would have seen them move four points clear of the Toffees.
Elsewhere, victories for both Southampton and Bournemouth over Chelsea and Wolves respectively also piled on the misery for Leeds this weekend. There was some light relief as both Leicester City and West Ham United lost to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - with Leeds remaining just one point behind the Hammers and five off the Foxes.

Speaking after Spurs' 2-0 victory over Weest Ham on Sunday afternoon, Souness shared his thoughts on the ongoing relegation battle and admitted that he is now concerned about Leeds' chances of survival this season.
"Every week we’re on here we’re asked to make comments on the bottom and the top when it’s so up and down," Souness told Sky Sports. "You look at Southampton winning yesterday at Chelsea when they shouldn’t, had a bit of luck with the saves the goalkeeper made and the ridiculously poor finishing of Chelsea, the same with Manchester City and Nottingham Forest.
"For me, looking at that I’d always look at the quality of the squad and then injuries, which we’re second guessing, but the quality of West Ham’s squad is telling me that they’re gonna get out of it.
"Looking at Leeds, I’m not sure anymore, I would’ve thought they’d have got themselves out of it. Bournemouth, a little worried about them. Wolves, alarming after a couple of results they go and lose to Bournemouth yesterday. I think West Ham will be okay."
