Former Liverpool midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has admitted Roy Keane was graceful in defeat after Manchester United loss 7-0 at Anfield but Gary Neville saw it a different way.
After the thrashing at Liverpool, Neville and Souness were embroiled in a heated war of words about the result. The ex-United captain compared Souness and Jamie Carragher to 'gloating children' following the result.
Souness meanwhile declared Neville as 'daft' after he suggested United played well in the first half and Jurgen Klopp would not be pleased overall with the result. Discussing the incident on Simon Jordan's Up Front podcast, the 69-year-old explained what happened in the studio that evening.

"I think Roy was boiling inside but took it gracefully, he knew his team were miserable and Gary chose to see it that Man United weren't that bad and Liverpool weren't that good," Souness explained. "We turned up before the game, before we went on air there was a bit of banter between us... I was asked a question off-air: 'What do you think the result will be?'
"I said: 'I don't know why I think this, but Liverpool will have a really good day and I think they will win and win well.' Half-an-hour later, we're on air and Gary said to me: 'Are you going to repeat what you said off-air?'
"I said yeah, we'll win and win well so Liverpool do that. After the game, we're up in the studio there's the four of us Carra [Jamie Carragher], Gary, Roy and during the break, Gary said Liverpool weren't very good today.
"I was willing to repeat what I said on the air, are you willing to do the same and he was reluctant to do it. I have to say I enjoyed that bit of television as much as any television I worked on for the last 20 years.
"My team beat their biggest rivals 7-0, it was a great day for me all round." While Neville has not yet responded to Souness' version of events, he did take grievance with another comment Souness made where he compared him and Carragher to the Chuckle Brothers.
Taking to Twitter, the 48-year-old wrote in reply: "Are their two Graeme Souness’? That isn’t the one I spoke to on Sunday.
"Jordan is like Boris [Johnson]. Will take everyone down with him."
Following Liverpool's victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Souness announced would be stepping down from his punditry role at Sky Sports and the Anfield game was his last.
